The District is receiving daily phone calls and emails inquiring about the opening of Melissa Road. The construction for Melissa Road is controlled solely by the Developer – Trinity Falls Holdings. Calling the City of Melissa, the City of McKinney, Collin County, and/or TxDOT is not helpful, as they are not involved in the construction and none of them have the current construction progress information. Only the Developer has the authority to open Melissa Road for use by the public. At this time, Melissa Road remains closed to all traffic (vehicles, bikes, golf carts, pedestrian). The District has been advised that the City of Melissa and CCSO are issuing tickets for persons going around the barricades to use Melissa Road. The District requested an update from the Mr. Ulke and we were provided the following statement: The General Contractor is still working toward final inspection and acceptance of the civil construction portion of the roadway. Once this portion is approved, the Developer will release the landscape, irrigation, and hardscape portion of the work. The anticipated opening of the roadway is still December 2024. If this date changes, we will provide an appropriate update. We will post additional updates when they are provided by the Developer.
